Campaign Update from the John L. Durrenberger Campaign
I hope this update finds you well and everyone is enjoying their summer. Once again, Cherryl and I want to thank everyone for their support and continued guidance as I prepare for my role as your next Washington County Judge this January.
Since the March Primary, I have had the opportunity to visit with many of our current city and county leaders, attended legislative committee hearings relating to county government, met with neighboring county officials, and spent time learning more about the various departments that run the day-to-day operations of Washington County.
This past June I had the opportunity to serve as a Washington County Republican Party Alternate at the Texas Republican Convention. It was an honor to be part of the convention process and meet with county and state leaders from across Texas.
Since last fall I have been attending the weekly Commissioner’s Court meetings and over the past few weeks I have been participating in the 2019 budget discussions. The budget discussions have allowed me the opportunity to visit with our commissioners, gain insight on each department’s budgets, and prepare for the upcoming transition.
These last few months provided me many opportunities to visit with the citizens of Washington County, learn more about their concerns, and identify the priorities for the future of Washington County. I welcome the opportunity to visit with you or any of your colleagues or organizations over the coming months to continue gaining insight.
Lastly, although I am un-opposed in the November 6 General Election, it is very important that each of you take part in this fall’s election. Thank you once again from Cherryl and I for your continued support and I hope to hear from each of you if I can provide any assistance.
